The 2025 Witzer NRL Pre-Season Challenge has wrapped, and what a debut year it was for us as the naming rights sponsor! The Brisbane Broncos stormed home to claim their second consecutive title, edging out the Dragons on points differential after both teams finished on 29 points.

Under new coach Michael Maguire, the Broncos looked sharp from the get-go. They kicked off their campaign with a dominant 50–12 win over the Titans in Toowoomba, followed by a 30–14 victory over the Bulldogs at Kayo Stadium. Ben Hunt made a stellar return in Broncos colours, contributing to all three of the team's first-half tries against the Bulldogs.

The Broncos secured the $100,000 prize, finishing with a +54 points differential, just ahead of the Dragons' +38.

  • Toowoomba Turnout: The Broncos' clash with the Titans drew over 7,000 fans to Toowoomba Sports Ground, showcasing the region's passion for rugby league and sparking calls for annual NRL trials in the area. 

  • Bonus Points System: Teams earned extra points for scoring 5+ tries, 5+ line breaks, and 10+ offloads in a game, adding an exciting strategic layer to the competition.

  • Cory Paix's Rise: Local talent Cory Paix impressed during the Challenge, securing the starting number 9 jersey for the Broncos after standout performances, including scoring two tries against the Titans.
