Why We Built Witzer
At Witzer, our mission is simple: to bring trust back to the construction industry - creating an environment where tradies know they’ll be paid for the good work they do, and clients know they can trust their builder and won’t get ripped off.
The Witzer system isn’t new. It was first developed in 2009 and has been tested and developed over 15 years of first-hand experience, proving the power of putting the money on the table to establish trust from day one.
We don’t think it works - we know it works.
To allow all tradies to have access to the system, the Witzer app was first launched in 2024 and has continued to innovate, releasing new features that help tradies automate admin and lift the standard across the industry. In 2025, Witzer announced a partnership with the NRL - one of Australia’s fastest-growing and most trusted brands, and one loved by tradies across the nation.

After starting his career in contracts administration with some of Australia’s leading commercial builders, James decided to move into residential construction and start his own company.
Using the Master Builders Trust Account, James developed a process for securing client commitments upfront - and quickly saw the benefits of building trust with clients. It helped him stand out, scale his business faster, and protect his cash flow with greater payment certainty.
Knowing the industry was in desperate need of reform, James created Witzer - giving builders and tradies a simple, easy-to-use tool to put trust back into their projects and get paid on time, every time.
